12mo, 19cm, first edition, 343,p., illustrated ads., engraved frontis portrait, in the original dark green cloth, gilt titles, decorations and border on the spine and upper cover, bevelled boards, some light damp staining on the last few pages and rear endpaper, and two spots on the title page, some light wear on the spines edges, text toned, still a very good sound copy. The author was a champion trap shooter. His work includes sections on guns and their proper charges, flight and resorts of water fowl, shooting grouse, quail, plover, ducks, geese, cranes, swans, wild turkey, deer, the art of shooting on the wing, breeding and breaking of dogs, &c.
