The Earl of Glamorgan's Negotiations and Colourable Commitment in Ireland Demonstrated or, The Irish Plot forbringing Ten Thousand Men and Arms into England, where of Three hundred to be for Prince Charl's (sic) Lifeguard. Discovered in several Letters taken in a Packet-boat by Sir Tho. Fairfax Forces at Padstow in Cornwall. Which Letters were cast into the Sea, and by the Sea coming in, afterwards regained. And were read in the Honourable House of Commons. Together with divers other Letters taken by Captain Moulton at Sea near Mitford-Haven coming out of Ireland, concerning the same Plot and Negotiations.

19x 14.5cm, 35p., decorated title, header & first initial, upper corner clipped on front cover(affecting first few lines of title, last page clipped on the bottom half(no text loss), soiled & ink stained, sewn with last leaf detached, internally good, very rare. (ids) A very scarce pamphlet relating to the Earl of Glamorgan's ( 1601-1667) involvement in Charles I's scheme for obtaining military help from Ireland. The Earl signed a treaty with the Irish Roman Catholics in 1645 on behalf of Charles but the king was forced to repudiate the treaty after opposition from Ormonde and Irish loyalists.
