Albion Press. 1804.,  16mo. 15.8cm,xxxix,135,4p., ads., engraved vignette title page and 8 engraved platesincluding frontis, 8 engraved text illustrations & headers, in full treecalf, rebacked, black leather label, gilt title, gilt ruled borders onthe boards, contemporary owner's initials in gilt on the boards & withhis name on the title-page and interior bookplate, very good to fine copy(lt). - Originally published in 1802, an attractive copy of the Englishpoet's best known works. The "Chase", a long poem in praise of hunting,was printed in 1735 while "Field Sports", on hawking, was published in1742. William Somerville (1675-1742) lived on his estate inWorcestershire and field sports provided the primary subjects for hispoetry. The text vignette illustrations are reminiscent of Bewick. Theplates by John Sartorius are attractive hunting scenes.
