Also added is a discourse preached in the First Baptist Meeting House in Hartford, on the Fourth of July. 1835.

Printed for Taylor and Hessey. 1812.,  8vo. 20.5cm, iv,296p., bound in contemporary half calf, gilt ruled raised bands, marbled boards, a very good to fine copy (N14) Colton, Charles Caleb (1780-1832), and English clergyman and writer, from Salisbury, educated at Eton and Cambridge, was curate at Tiverton, Devonshire, and in 1818 became Vicar of Kenard and Petersham. He was extravagant in his habits and addicted to gambling, and having contracted numerous debts, absconded to the United States in 1828. He committed suicide at Fontainebleau after some years in the gaming haunts of Paris. His works include, Hypocrisy, 1812; Lacon, a collection of moral precepts, 1820; and Remarks on the Talents of Lord Bacon, 1819. Everyman p183.
