(n14). A French translation of the original English edition of 1854 written by the eminent English cardinal, Nicholas Patrick Stephen Wiseman (1802- 1865). A historical romance about the early Christian church, the book had a very wide circulation and was translated into ten languages.

PiusV was noted for amending the Roman breviary, Clements VIII for therevision of the liturgical instructions and Urban VIII for amending thehymns. A complete Roman breviary with calendar, rubrics, Psalter,Proprium de Tempore, Proprium Sanctorum, and Commune Sanctorum. A veryattractive copy of an important 18th century Roman Catholic text.
