(cgc) T.P.L. 2005. Gagnon I-127. Not in Lande. The letters dated Montreal, 1835-36, inveigh against French opinion in Canada. Thom, a Scot, came to Canada about 1832 and became a lawyer and journalist. He was editor of the Montreal Herald, 1835-38, and a member of Lord Durham's staff in 1838.

The book mainly discusses matters religious but does contain some account of the details of day to day life in Halifax during this period.
