Dennis p56. Not in Lande or Gagnon. - Jacob Bailey (1731-1808), an Anglican minister from Massachusetts, emigrated to Nova Scotia after the American Revolution. His diaries give a valuable account of the Loyalist migration of 1782-83. Thefacsimile letter is by Bailey's friend, John Adams, who later became the second President of the United States.

First published in 1637, Bassee addressed problems of conscience, ethics, and skepticism. A scarce Belgian edition this being the first of two volumes.
