The first recorded Canadian edition appeared c.1941, ie, (produced in Canada), over thirty years after the first American edition. The Chicago publishers supplied Copp Clark with copies of each new Oz books upon publication from 1907 to 1931. According to "Hinke. The Road to Oz' of 1909 appears to be an exception to this policy". However, this statement is incorrect; we have been informed by a "Oz" customer that he knows of four copies on the 1909 edition with the Copp, Clark title page. - It is the only Oz book of the 1941 Canadian series that retains the spine vignette.
