The scrapbook was made up out of colorful prints fromDanish newspapers, German magazines and French picture-sheets. HansChristian Anderson contributed funny, intimate verses and added fiveelaborate paper-cuts of his own.

The title page title (as opposed to the cover title) reads "Quacks kcau" as numerials on a clock. Each illustration is of ducks or ducklings.
